Did you know that…

The domestic donkey (Equus asinus) is a species from the genus Equus and the subgenus Asinus of the donkey family. It is believed to have originated from the African wild ass (Equus africanus). Due to harsh living conditions, the donkey has evolved into a very strong and resilient animal capable of traveling long distances while carrying heavy loads, consuming little food and water. Different species of donkeys can interbreed, but their offspring are infertile. A popular hybrid between a horse and a domestic donkey is called a mule. The domestic donkey was domesticated about 3,000 years BCE in Egypt, with some sources mentioning 6,000 BCE. In any case, this occurred around the same time that the horse was domesticated. The domestic donkey became popular as a working animal and rapidly spread across the world. Even today, donkeys have not lost their role in agricultural life in many countries, and their numbers continue to grow.
